Default fuel gauge

my fuel gauge on my 91 si hb (with b16 swap) doesnt read correctly... i was completly on E and put in 5 gallons and the gauge read full for about 6 days and 120 miles later when i went to go fill up it said i still had 3/4 tank?! ive just been goin off my trip odom./mpg so i run out of gas. and its getting old! does anyone have any ideas or have had a similar problem? i searched for fuel gauge and olny came up with air/fuel ratio gauges

any ideas would be helpful, thanks

Coule be the guage on the cluster is bad and you need a new cluster or the acctual sending unit is bad in the gas tank...dosen't seem to be a very uncommon problems I think most cars gauges are off and/or hang up a little...I'd say try swapping in a different cluster for like a week and see if that makes a difference I mean just grab a cheap cluster and if it works maybe try and swap the guage over to yours
