Repacking my muffler- Where to get the packing and what to use.
Finally got my ninja 250 hitting on both cylinders but now that thing is ungodly loud. I mean its earshattering loud. Its got a muzzy pipe and when I broke open the muffler there was a handful of black packing in an otherwise empty tube. I need to repack this immediately and just so happens no bike shops around my house have any muffler packing.
question is are there any other things I can use as packing that I could get at like a home depot or other shop or something. Will any fiberglass packing resistant to like 1000 degrees work? TIA

no way man, I priced stock pipes and even used they are like $45 at the cheapest. I would then have to rejet and other crap. I didn't put this muffler on it but I'm not planning on putting more into it than I have to. I would try to sell the muzzy and switch but the last owner downed it at like 20 mph so its lacking cosmetically.

stainless steel wool
cheapest, easiest way to repack your muffler.
if its still not quiet enough, just use it until you can get the real stuff.
