Shoppin for civic
I have a 2001 chevy impala selling it for $12,000 and going for a civic, my friend has a hooked up 93-05 civic coupe with a gsr and many other mods... I found a civic for $900 with a blown engine went to look at it today, air bags were blown out it was it and needed to much work inside N outside. I was going to drop a Type R engine in it... but i dont like the fact it was hit... Found this how does it sound? 1997 Civic w/96 ls swap,t3/t4 turbo kit,struts,coilovers,17" rims,99 civic si front end, full exhaust, eclipse 450cc injectors, walbro 255hp pump,si gauges,si center console and front seats,obd2-1,tuned w/uberdata.Ran 12.7 in 1/4 mile w/12psi.Asking $5000

I personally would buy a car that has only one owner. I wouldnt buy a car that is already fixed up because you dont know what the car has been through.
try to find one that is bone stock. or at least close to bone stock. cause you'll never know if those people who already modded their engines srewed up or something. its best to get a stock one and work your way up. and its also good because you can learn more about your car. try this website if you havent already. 2nd deal sounds pretty aight...
EDIT:
I'd just get the ECU re-tuned after you buy it to make sure everything w/ the turbo is all co-existant with the rest of the engine...

you need to buy a clean used stock honda and build from there. look for a honda si those are good little cars. or even look for a used honda with a swap done that is stock and build that up. but dont i repeat dont buy a pre moded car you never know what that car has been trough.. the old owner could have put to much turbo in it or ran nos out the *** and now the valve train is weak and it could blow on u at any time. and guess what now its your problem, so thats why you dont buy a pre modded car.
build your own, never know how motor was done, or treated. as to finding a 1 owner civic, good luck on that one. as long as you look it over well, and they have paperwork for maintaining it and such. if you can do a carfax, i got screwed on my EG as i took a guys word for it when i purchased.
this is a honda website, no need to try to justify the price of your chevy, i wouldn't pay that much for it, but then again i would never buy a chevy impala. buy a car that is stock, try for one owner, and don't buy it if the person selling it brags about how fast it is because more than likely he/she beat the hell out of it. it sounds like you just want a civic to be "cool" but honestly i'm sure you'll reconsider what to buy when you DON'T get 12k for your current ride
