what replacement parts do i use to rebuild this tranny?? my father said he think i broke the ring gear in it....now all it feels like is a slipping clutch....like what tranny i order parts from?

and do these oem lsds break that easy?
broke it shifting into 2nd....with a car probably at 160 to the wheels

any help is appreciated

 

wha diff. do you have? type r i assume. if so and the ring gear is broke your most likely going to want to replace the counter shaft. if thats the case get the oem 4.7 final drive kit which can purchased from h-motorsonline.com. it's the same final drive found in jdm type r trannies.

 

bump for more info.....so the kit will fix the problem? (jdm 4.7 kit).......could there be more damage done inside the tranny? the final drive kit is direct fit in?

no you need a GSR diff or ITR LSD

The ring gear for the ITR 4.785 final drive ring gear will not mate properly to the stock PR3 differential. So you need the GSR diff or the ITR LSD to run the final drive, ring and pinion. Divide the ring gear's teeth by the number of teeth on the pinion to verify the ratio of 4.785 once you buy and have the parts in hand.

 

well i guess thats one option....to go with the 4.7 final drive , but then id need the itr lsd or gsr diff......but if i get the gsr diff...it will not have lsd correct?

what about repairing this one...what car can i source the parts from...usdm itr tranny?

Did it sound like a loud noise? It feels like a slipping clutch? Well drive down the street and when you give it gas it pulls one direction and when you let off the gas it pulls the other direction then you have a broken lsd unit.

 

thats exactly what it does....so since now its a jdm b16a tranny hydro w/lsd...what replaceparts can i use? i mean since its broken i wanna just upgrade to the itr 4.785...what else would i need to do that
