First, YES, I did a search. Here is the story: I am a very poor person, thus, I can't afford my planned DC JDM 4-1, 2.5" test pipe, and 70mm Kakimoto R all at once. So I am getting a hook up for the Kakimoto R with a test pipe, and the DC JDM 4-1 in a couple months. The question is, how can I bolt the 2.5" (70mm od) to my stock GS-R header? Also, how can I bolt just the 70mm catback to the stock GS-R cat, or is that the same way as to the stock header? Thanks in advance.

You can't wait for the headers

 

 

cuz I don't know if the headers are a sure thing yet...cuz I am going FI...so that doesn't really help me...does anyone know the answer, someone must know how?

fi won't be till next spring, I want the basic I/H/E just to tide me over, and the 70mm Kakimoto R will work well with the turbo (down pipe is 2.5") so yeah...then when I upgrade more, I will get a 3" downpipe and thermal exhaust, but even that isn't for a year after I get the turbo...

 

i don't think you can bolt up the kakimoto 70mm to your stock cat, because the kakimoto b-pipe length is longer than your stock b-pipe.

 

o, i c, oh well, not a problem anymore. I ordered the Invidia exhaust system (same as the new Skunk2 one, only with out the S2 badge) cuz it is a discontinued item (the S2 is replacing it) and thus got it for only $480 shipped. JDM Honda Parts should ship it tomorrow, it was supposed to go out today, but they were "under manned" so it will go out tomorrow, hopefully.

Well I think you could have just bolted the Kakimoto to your cat??? I built a cat for a guy running a JDM header and Kakimoto exhaust on the earlier GSRs like yours and he needed a 12" long cat which is the same length I build for the GSR and JDM header so that tells me the B pipe flanges are in the same position.

Sorry I just saw this now, but you should have IM'd me. I answer a lot of these types of questions, even from guys who aren't buying stuff from me. It's not a problem.

 

It's ok, I was thinking of IMing you, but I found out that I don't have enough money for the Kakimoto R. I figure I might as well just use the Skunk2 for the next year or so and then switch to a 3" Thermal when I go Turbo. Thanks for the help though, I'll keep everything in mind.
