Alright, I have another problem with my damn CRX. The car runs great at idle. The problem occurs when I am deccelerating. I go through the gears to slow the car down to get around a corner. Once I am in the correct gear (2nd), I then try to acclerate out of the turn. Once I hit the gas, the cars bogs really low. It wants to stall out. So I have to put it in neutral and start to rev the motor to try to prevent it from stalling. Sometimes I am able to save it, sometimes I cannot and it stalls out. I have no idea what is causing this. It only happens under these circumstances.

I have replaced the entire engine and transmission along with the wiring harness. I am suspecting that it might be my main relay or the fuel pump. I have replaced the fuel filter. Does anybody here agree with me or know a solution to this problem? I am open to any suggestions.

who would the fuel pump only box out when u decelerate? i dont know man...sorry

 

Are you sure its not your timing, my friends GSR just got back from the shop getting a coil and dist. replaced the shop totally fucked up his timing and hes bogging in low gears too...I knew it was that and I have a timing gun so we pulled it into my garage and checked it sure enough it was way off, It wasnt even completely on TDC so we put it there and set it to 15 degrees...its runnin great now.

 

Now I know it's not the pump, relay, or timing. It's something else. I just don't know what. It only occurs when it's in gear and a low rpm. Once I try to accelerate, it bogs down. The harder I hit the gas, the worse it gets. What's even weirder is the fact that it doesn't happen all the time, just sometimes.

Same thing is going on with my civic, it is always bogging in low gears, but once i get it up a little it is fine. I will be tinkering with it later this week to try to get the timing right, hopefully that will fix it.

 

Did you check your vacuum lines, especially to the MAP sensor. Sounds like when I had my lines miss matched one time, car ran really really rough and cut out alot. Maybe the line to the MAP is clogged or something is not right. Just my thought. Good luck and you'll find out what it is sooner or later.

 

This has happened to me in the past. Turned out it was my coil.

 

I also have a feeling it doesn't involve anything that is actually part of the engine. It happened in the past with my old 173,000 mile motor and now it's happening to my new (120,000 mile) engine. So everything has been replaced, including the ignition, wiring harness, and various sensors.
