Question about the emissions light in 2003 Type-S
Asking on behalf of my friend.
In his 2003 Type-S the emissions light came on. It just came on one day randomly. Only mods are a Skunk2 knockoff catback and AEM V2 intake.
Wanting to know what most likely is the problem?
Is it O2 sensor? Or maybe an exhaust leak or something?
Can the light be cleared by us or does the dealer have to do it?

If its a emission light, get the code checked out.
Either way something needs to be replaced or the code will keep coming back

Only way to really tell is to get an OBDII scanner and pull the code.
If it was the IAT sensor, it would have came on when he started the car after installing the intake.
Its more than LIKELY that its not an o2 sensor, as generally, a simple catback is installed beyond all the o2 sensors anyways. At least, the catback wont be the reason for the fouling of the o2 sensor, if in fact thats what it proves to be.
But like I said, get that code pulled. Thats the only way you'll know for sure.

The V2 and exhaust were installed over a year ago. I KNOW those aren't the causes. It just came on one day out of nowhere.
And there is no check engine light on. Will a scanner pick up on something if its just the emissions light. (NOT THE CEL)
