Default Calling all MINI ME experts

Sometimes I love buying off the net and sometimes it just plain sucks
I bought a d16z6 and after installing it found out that cylinder 4 has
80 compression BAH@! anyways anyone know if i can do anything legally
to get money back? or am i SOL?

Now to the real question

Since my bottom end is shot ive decided the most reasonable route to go
would be A6 bottom end matted to my vtec head

What type of compression would an A6 bottom w/ y8 head yield me?
Is this safe? Any downsides to running mini me?

What parts will i need to do this?

Thanks

why do you think the problem's in the bottom end? it could be something simpler...head gasket maybe?

a6/y8 head will yield aprox. 11:1-11:2 and its not worth it,i got that set up right now and with the money you spend swaping head you could fix the the other block
email me so i can help you a little big more

I've got a d15b2 bottom end and a d16y8 head, it is definately worth it to run a minime setup for all motor. The car is an absolute blast. mines in an 89 civic sedan. i run the car on 93 onctane with no problems. I've heard my compression ratio being anywhere from 10.9-11.3. i have had knock before but the im running the car friday nite for the first time since it was rebuilt from its previous 15.7. if you have any question on my setup email is key

why is the 10.9-11 compression ratio not worth it?

with the z6 bottom i will only get 9.2 wont that increase in compression really help me with my all motor set up ?

the high compression is definately worth it if your going to stay all motor, i need a d16y8 bottom end real soon since im going turbo.

well,i didn't notice anything diferent when i did mine, even when i got a compltely rebuild bottom end,cam timing was off,the iddle was kind of ruff and knocking under load, the timing belt gets to tite,i do fix it already but for me doesn't really pull like with the a6 head, another thing you can do since you got z6 bottom, use integra pistons on the z6 block and you will get a good comp.ratio.really with the money you spend on the head swap you could do the z6 bottom end.thats up to you man.good luck

what is the comp if you use z6 head instead of y8 ?

can you run a big cam(zex/crower) with a6 block, do the pistons have enough clearence?

thanks
