Default Breather fitting on valve cover?

I am planning to weld one or two -10 or -12 an (earls weld fittings) onto the front of my valve cover for venting crank-case gasses. My question is that I see alot of guys do this, but when people do this, do they mount a baffle in front of the fittings (inside the valve cover) so it won't shoot out too much oil? If necessary I will fabricate some sort of baffle on the inside of the valve cover--what do you guys do? Any pics? I hope my explanation makes sense......thanks.

If I am not mistaken, I believe Moroso makes a "baffled/screened" bulk-head -12an fitting that wouldn't even have to be welded (just drill a hole and tighten the included nut) but at $40 each, I am trying to figure out if those are truly necessary. I would like to see some pics UNDERNEATH the valve cover if it isn't too much trouble, thanks again.

what you do is drill and tap the holes for your fittings. the valve cover has baffling stock. so you should be fine. just drill and tap the holes for the correct fitting and youre set.

If you drill in the front of a d16a6 valve cover, it certainly doesn't have stock baffling (in the front or exhaust side) --I always see it on the b-series--so I am thinking that maybe the b-series cover have the baffling "passageway" in the front--the d16 has the stock vent on the intake side--but there is a vented baffled "passageway" that goes from the intake side and pretty much the roof of the cover. Pics of the underside of a b-series cover would be great, thanks.

I see now why everyone does it on the front of the b series covers--there is a factory baffle there!! D series covers don't have a baffle in the front like that. thank you.

I got a D16 and did some breather nipples in the front of the valve cover. It's working pretty good, and not much oil actually gets "squirted" out of it. I've had mine for over 4 months and the tank was only 1/4 full when I drained it.

Which is why he's asking for D-series not B-series.

what are you saying? thanks for the d-pic. So you never really had a problem (d series cover) pushing out too much oil? interesting....
