gas consumption????
hey all, got a question, i juss put back to the stock muffler and i notice im using more gas than before, i lost 50miles for every full tank of gas....before, im running straight pipe 2.5in, and full tank of gas i can run +- 200miles, now back to stock muffler and im running only for 150 more or less couple miles, no cel code or anything... anyone know why???

Holy crap you get terrible gas mileage. What's the size of your gas tank?! If its anything larger than the 15.9 in the prelude, you're getting less than 9mpg. Somethings obviously wrong.

30mpg is eating gas?
Sounds like tuning is the problem for the original poster...

well, it on the it like 12 or 13gal tank,i can never fill it up more than 12gal.. it on a 95 accord...it already tuned, iono if i should re-tune it since im puttin the stock muffler back...stock h22a, im gettin usually 250 or more miles for every full tank...with those mods i mentioned, i get at least 190miles full tank, but like i said, i juss put bak to stock exhaust and im dropin to 150miles...should i re-tune it or juss put back the muffler i had b4?
oh man, it not the point wether how big or small the gas tank is, the point is anyone has any clue why there a big decrease of mileage wen i switch back to the stock muffler....
my 4th gen with 16 gal tank can get 450.
something is wrong. do a tune up, check o2 sensor. check and make sure you're brakes aren't seized.
maybe your cat is clogged?

dude, you have a shitload of air/fuel goin in with the p&p and IM, cams with a lot of overlap, a free flowing header and exhaust, then you slap on the stock muffler that is now backing everything up, its like blowing through a normal soda straw, and then trying to blow the same amount of air in the same amount of time through one of those tiny *** coffee straws, it aint gonna happen, retuning will help, you are probably backing up in the exhaust, which is preventing as much air coming in the intake as previously, but the same amount of fuel is being put in for less air, im guessing youre running way rich
i thought it gonna backin up the exhaust too so i asked around b4 i did it and they all said it ok, sigh...i guess i'll stick back with the other muffler...
just for reference, for you and other people I get about 20mpg, which seems a little low to me, I think it might have to do with having a factory exhaust also. My setup is built for top end and I still haven't got my new exhaust welded together
mods: P&P head, crower stage 3 cams, crower valvesprings&retainers, .5 oversized valves, extrude honed IM,70mm TB, CAI, DC header, Type-S pistons, tuned uberdata, factory exhaust
I think thats all the mods that would affect milage
