Default REPLACING CRX FUEL PUMP NEED REAL ANSWERS

im replacing the pump and i took off the cargo storage box and took off the cover under it disconnected the plugs and stuff and i dont see any bolts to gain acess to the pump under there. i only see this plastic black cover thing that appears to be where i thought the surrounding bolts to access the pump in the tank would be. anyway i dont wanna mess anything up going farther to pry the black thing off or twist? .. i have no clue my helm or chiltons is just confusing me.... seems like they have the years wrong. Ive got a 91 CRX. DO I HAVE TO DROP THE TANK TO GET THE NEW PUMP IN? please answer only if u know what youre talkng about. thanks.

btw i searched and found nothing on this.

Yes you have to drop the tank to get to the pump...very simple just a little timely, I just did it the other week...Drain the tank there is a bolt on the bottom drivers side...remove the bolts holding the straps up that hold the tank to the car use a floor jack under nieth to lower the tank...i did this because it make removing the fuel line easier when the tank was lower but becarefull...there is a shield covering the all the lines right behind the rear wheel on the drivers side dsconnect the hoses and then lower the tank all the way...I suggest lowering it off the jack and onto some carboard and then just pullit out ffrom under the car on the cardboard...you should be able to figure out the rest
