BRAKES Barely Work - Fresh Swap, What Happenned?
The car is an 88 Crx si.
Since I brought the car out this year the brakes werent feeling as good as I felt they should have.
So I swapped in some bremobo slotted rotors and hawk pads, that didnt do a thing. I really had to smash the pedal to get it to stop.
Now yesterday I swapped my motor. New d16a6 and turbo. We drive the car down the driveway and NO BRAKES!!!
I had to pump the brakes seversal times to get it to stop from a 20mph roll.
The brake fluid is full, calipers and lines were never unhooked. The only thing I did was unhook the mastercylinder from the wall (2 bolts) and pushed it off to the side a bit to get the alternator out. But that was 2 weeks before the swap.
I really wanna bring this car camping this weekend so I need some help
Thanks guys

My teg was kinda of similar...I replaced the rotors and pads all around and when I went to drive the car the pedal went to the floor
it stopped, pretty much looked the brakes up everytime you pressed he pedal...I'm still trying to fix it just swapped in a new MC and there is still air in the lines and 2 of the calipers(opposite sides and 1 front and 1 back) are not bleedable, no fluid comes out
Try changing the MC hopefully that will fix your problem

I orderred a new master cylinder today, 3-4 days order time though
Its a remanufactured unti as well, it was $53 and the new one was $115
I guess I have to bleed the brakes and everything when I do that as well eh?
Any other possibilities?
Brake booster is hooked up

Same thing happened to my friend. Try removing the little plastic connector going from the brake booster line to the intake manifold. It can be put on two ways (nipple/indentation thing facing left OR right). We hadn't put it on the right way and as soon as we flipped it, it worked.

It's number 5 in the picture here.

I fixed it, was running very thin oil (SAE10). Threw in some SAE40 and its got great pressure now
Any more ideas on this brake problem?
Like the car was mint when I first got it, all stock and old. THen it went away for a winter and the pedal now felt kinda slow, didnt brake good at all. Now I do a motor swap and the brakes are barely there....
Whats going on? Will a master cylinder swap solve this or are there bigger problems Im not knowing about?
