question on jdm d15 sohc vtec motor

Default question on jdm d15 sohc vtec motor

i just got on of these and im just kinda iffy if the bottom end is blown or not so i was just wondering is the bottom end on the d15 sohc vtec the same as the bottom end on the d15b2 and if i put the d15 vtec head ont he d15b2 bottom end will i have a hp decrease or will it be the same????thnx ahead of time

also will the distributor on the d15b2 fit on the d15 vtec head

Yes if you need to you can change bottom ends and no the dizzys won't change over.

I think the a6 will work someone else will need to chime in, but obd1> obd0.

the d15b bottom end is more on the side of the d15bz1 not the d15b2, you will lose hp either way with whichever block you choose even with a vtec head. If you jdm b15b bottom end blows, get another one, or d16a6, z6 or zc to get comparable results.
