Just wanted to bring to light a paint issue a couple of Fit owners, besides me, are experiencing with their new Fits.

I checked on my way into work... On the front driver-side there looks like a small start to it (wouldn't have seen if I wasn't looking). I'll take a pic tonight and post, and send a copy of the pic with a link to that thread to my dealer and Honda Canada tonight. I'll have to keep an eye on it, too, over the next few weeks.

For the record, we got our blue Fit Sport on Thursday.

Ive posted in that thread and this should definitely be a sticky!

Mine is quite minor so far but I feel if I touch it it will peel off like crazy. I called Honda 800# today (800) 999-1009 and they said they do not have any recall or defect info at this time. IF YOU HAVE THIS PROBLEM, PLEASE CALL

Calling that # as we speak.

Make sure when you call you have your VIN# handy. (Vehicle Identification Number) This will help them to bring the possibility of a recall to the table and make it easier for us all.

Called and reported.

((Already spoke to my dealer. No help.))

I have one of the first 1000 cars produced. 0 Issues. Not peeling paint or any flaws whatsoever.

we had that problem on the 01-05 civics also. it looks like the bumpers fit to tight. then any movement/flex will cause the paint to flake away Honda will take care of it. they take care of more **** then any other manufacture.

Thanks for posting this, my passenger side front bumper looks just like the red bumper above. I thought something happened when we clearbra'd it. I'm taking it by the dealer first thing tomorrow.

Thats the truth. My best friend works at a dealership and he says its crazy how much stuff they take care of that they probably shouldn't.

Um...**** happens...its a brand new car that has not even been manufactured before. There usually are issues with cars like that.

Nope. I havent worried about it anymore though, mine has not gotten any worse. Realistically, we are talking about an area less than 1 square centimeter.

Not exactly. The Fit/Jazz had been available for a number of years in other markets before Honda recently decided to bring it to the US.

Is this still happening to the Fit's that are coming in, or is it too early to tell? Just wondering, since perhaps it was just a flaw that the 1st batch of cars had, and has already been noticed/reported, and fixed for the upcoming series
