Default Air conditioning ***** don't illuminate

The air conditioning ***** in my 96 accord no longer illuminate when I turn the lights on , but the weird part is everything else on the dash still lights up. I am thinking it's the lights just in the *****, but wanted to if there is a fuse just for those lights. If it is the lights, can anyone inform me of the easiest way to change them.

it was on big deal w/ wifey's car... this & the lighted panel on the auto trans stick were d/t iffy connectors.

I usually give it a love-tap w/ my palm & it would light up... haha

I guess you'll have to remove the console for a more permanent fix.

check the light dimming control left of the steering wheel. I got eurolight gauges, and I can plug that controll in and have the climate controls work. The other option I have, the one I use is to just leave it unpluged so my gagues will work.

haha, I have this same problem with my 95 ex, although all I have to do is hit it with my fist and they usually come on. But as to the technical answer I dont have a clue.

they are lit by a single #74 bulb. very common problem, it can either be burnt out, but more commonly related to a loose connection. the a/c control unit is all 1 circuit board, while the light that lights the **** is remotely connected by wires, which often get loose... try pushing on the leftmost Vent button as hard as you can, it usually works for me...

for best results, youll have to pull the dash trim off, pull the unit out, replace the bulb, and solder the 2 connections...

try to pull it out, and see if it is connected right.

Funny enough, it did work by hitting the area around the *****. It lights up, but then I have to do it every time I turn the lights on. I wanted to actually see if there was a technical reason and permanent fix for the problem though.

^^^^

did you read my last post? i suggested that hitting it would probably work, but the proper fix would be to resolder.
