Default Passing inspection with ghetto climate control?

My boy has a CRX and can't pass inspection cause he doesn't hae a defroster or defogger or sum bullshit.

He doesn't have the center console, and of course, his climate control is broke like all rex's. Is there any way he can ghetto-rig the defroster to work w/out a center console just so he can pass inspection?

WTF? What kind of crackhead laws do you guys have up there in that end of the country? lol

And BTW, the defroster doesn't have anything at all to do with the center console. It may be tied into the cig lighter circuit somehow...you can bypass it, but it would be more convenient to just hook up the cig lighter so the circuit is complete.

I think it was the defogger. Because he can't turn on his heat or AC he can't defog the windows I guess, i dunno.

How can he ghetto rig the air,

and how can he ghetto rig the defroster?

I'm not understanding how the center console has ANYTHING to do with either the defogger or the defroster.

Is he missing a center console, or is he missing the entire dashboard?

He could possibly put some toggle switches in there to do the job.

States are allowed to have thier own standards for what passes as a roadworthy vehicle. Most require some kind of window defrosting....even on home-made vehicles from scratch.

My guess is your friend's car was somehow otherwise offensive and suspicious, and the inspector was doing anything he could to keep the car (or its driver) off the road.

Driving... serious business.

My sedan passed without a dashboard...I had everything hooked up though. The guy was like "well you've got all your gauges...I don't see any reason to fail it."

Yeah, it looks a lil iffy, that's why he failed it I guess.

You know, the little sliding switch that goes to head, feet, or window? I think he needs that working. How can he ghetto-rig that?

But that mounts to the dashboard skeleton...the center console is really nothing more than a garnish piece if I'm not mistaken.

I guess I'll have to go to his house and get a more accurate idea of what's going on.
