Default best way to "smoke" amber parts???

Well I plan on having all the amber parts on my sol "smoked". I want them all to look something like this:
http://www.jdmshit.com/parts/h...rners/

What is the best way to go about doing this... I was thinking of the lens paint & clear and then color sanding/buffing

Yeah I was thinking about that. I'll probally try it out on the side refletors and fender signals first. then If I like it progress to the front and rear turnsignals.

I believe you just spray the outside of them because by sprayng the inside the amber would only look a little darker and not have a smoke effect to it.

get the stuff called Nite Shades. I got it from Summit. Modernperformace.com sells it also. Way better than the other stuff I tried. Had it on my other car. Amber signals and tails tinted. Ill prolly do my new daily driver one of these days also.

sounds like it might make it only black except when it's lit up...I'm looking for only a light tint so that the amber still shows through. do you have a pic of it in the day on your car???

awsome I think I'll get some of it to try it. Did you wet sand it after you sprayed it?

i acutally went thru like 4 pairs of corners til i was satisfied... found the best combo was wetsand before with like 2000, 3000grit then spray and clearcoat, gives the best finish

I found a way to smoke them from the inside, and it doesn't fade, or make the lights look cheap.
