idle problems? car revs then drops? coil boot caught on fire last week!
hey guys i posted an ad as to why my car wasnt running right with the msd 6a and blaster 2 coil. since then i put it back to stock. swapped my obd 1 ecu back to my obd2 ecu. my coil boot caught on fire they other day. i have since replaced the coil wire, cleaned out the coil since their was all kinds of dirt in there. and started my car and it idles at 1100 rpms. ill get to stoplights and my car will be reving down and then when it hits 1000rpms it will bounce back up to 1400 then slowly fall to around 1100 rpms. i dont know what to do at this point is their anything else i could try? is their another reason as to why my car has and idle problem? i have a 96 prelude vtec. i have intake and exhaustt thats about it. soo can someone please help me out ??
so do you still have the msd in the car. cause it sounds like you wired it backwards and cause it to heat up. Your idling sounds like a combination of timing and vaccum.
The msd box and coild have been removed. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this problem? I just don't have any idea ?

Yeah? Where are any vacum lines around the coil ? I have all day to work on it today so I just want to see if their is anyone that can help?

there isn't any really besides the one going to the PAIR (dont remember what it stands for but it's located by the battery under the intake.
That doesn't mean u dont have a vacuum leak coming from somewhere else though.

You were saying their are some vacum lines near the intake? I'm going to look for those now and see what's goin on. When a leak occurs is it gonna be something obvious? That I will easily identify? Anyone else have any other ideas?
