Convertible top hole!
So i have an 06 s2k bought back in april. just went to drop the top today and the passenger side latch didnt click back in all the way after delatching it so i could put the top down...so as it went down, it put a hole a little larget than a quarter in the top!
I am beside myself dont know what to do...any suggestions? I was thinking about either taking it to the dealership and seeing if they will fix it under warranty or taking it to insurance claiming someone tried to break in it. also does anyone know the est. repair time is on a top like ours? thanks again.

dont lie to the dealer, or get involved in insurance fraud, just play stupid, its under warranty, and u found it ripped one day, u dont know how the hell it happened...ask the dealer what theyre gonna do about it...get the hardtop if u can, u can always pop it off and patch the vert urself for cheap...patch.
Man, I had the same problem on my 02' S. Dropping the top one day and the right side lock unlocked and popped a whole in the canvas. Ruined my day. I've tried patching but it doesn't hold long. If you find a good patch or way to seal up your hole let me know. I talked to Honda about this being a factory flaw but they said its' not a common problem.

dont disrespect your brand new S by cheaping its looks with a patch. Just take it back to the dealer. You have a thing called warrenty and just say "WTF is this?" I need a new top. Issurance or someone will cover it. And dont just take the money given to you and buy a HT. Get it fixed FIRST and THEN buy a HT later on.

i called honda monday...my top is already in today and im dropping the car off tomorrow morning. They said it will be covered under warranty so i am not too worried about it...at least until its fixed and im driving it with the new top. but now last night i was driving at about 35mph and curbed my left rear wheel...now my steering wheel is pulled to the right about an inch...but the car goes straight doesnt pull. i dropped it off at dobbs to havr them check it for free but i just hope its not the control arm cause i dont think that is covered under warranty just hoping its alignment. anybody have any feedback on this let me know...but so far honda is being cool about the top.

Agreed... unlikely, but doesn't hurt to ask. Does she have an aftermarket extended warranty or a Honda certified pre-owned vehicle warranty? Slim chance, but they might cover it as a goodwill claim under TSB 09-033 depending on where the tear is and some other factors.
Just park your car in a sketchy place for a night or two.
Depending on your insurance, you should have a brand new roof within a week. Might even get some new seats out of it!

^ This is not good advice considering Honda no longer makes the seats for these cars. They have to be bought piece by piece and that is expensive, add the cost of the roof and whatever else they decide to steal and the car maybe totaled.
Just patch it or pay for an aftermarket one there are quite a few manufacturers now of aftermarket soft tops, some are even real cloth instead of the vinyl that the oem one is. I know a lot of people have had pretty good luck with the aftermarket tops. If you want to stay OEM and you are some what mechanically inclined you could simple order the top from HardTop guy or Majestic Honda and do the install yourself. Though set aside a good weekend to do it. It takes 6 hours to install a top (just the top meaning no motors frames), it will problably take you longer since you have never done it before. If you are patient you can get a top off of S2KI with the frame and motor still attached for a little bit more, but the extra money paid will make the install take about half the time.
Good luck, tell your mom she has a nice Suzuka Blue S.
