i took my negative terminal off of my battery so that i could put in a new o2. then when i went to put my negative back on . . it sparks like crazy and i knew a little sparking is okay. so i slammed it on there. then smoke came from my grounds. so i took it off. . checked all of my grounds. . got new ones. . it still smokes and sparks when i try to put i on. . so i thought i would take the positive side off and try it with that . . well i hooked up the negative side. then the positive side smoked and sparked. .
i'm sure that means a postive is grounding out somewhere but i dont know where. . .would my safest bet be to start from the starter and work my way through the cars electrics?
any help would really be appreciated!!!!!

your safest bet to start is what you touched or removed during the o2 swap. there has to be something you moved that know is grounding out.

I agree, if it wasn't doing it before you started your replacement, then it has to be something in the area that you working in.
