Default Which coilovers setup ?

I have it narrowed down. I dont really want the koni yellows and GC ive heard good things but would rather have a true coilover. Ive heard that Zeals are the best but who wants to spend over 2k. Ive narrowed it down to either Tein Flex,Funchtion and Form,KSPort, and D2. Thats pretty much the price range i would like to stay in. I need something that is going to be able to handle snow and salt without rusting too bad. Ride quality isnt a concern. Personally I love a race car like feel and to feel the road.

Bump for a good thread. I would like to know what people have to say.

For some reason I think everybody will jump on the Koni/DC set-up.

If you had the $, it would be Zeal, hands down. One appeal of the Koni/GC set-up is that you can have custom spring rates as well as the Koni's revalved at the factory.

Tein SS is a very good setup and not all that expensive.

I have the Teins and I love them...but I have heard in a lot of places that Buddy clubs are the way to go.

buddy club, which ones?
(Im in the same boat, needing coilovers or springs, something to lower my 94 Si and give it a little better handling, I know with springs it wont help near as much with either as much as coilovers.)

well technically in that price range, you can still get gc/koni's which is better than all those you listed.

but will you ever use it? who knows.

do you like the idea of a true coilover? maybe that might sway your decision

do you like the blingness of it?

The neuspeed konis are the best IMO paired witha good spring like H&Rs. The Neuspeed Konis have shorter rods and five adjustable perches. You just have to ask yourself how many times you are willing to jack up your car to change the settings with coilovers. Are you willing to have your car corner weighted? JMO

i have tein ss, its pretty good but with any coilover set-up you really nedd to take the time to set it up right to your intentions of use(autocross, drag, street). i have spent lots of time on it and still havent found the happy medium. all the manual settings were to just dump it which in my case with street driving, doesn 't work out if you like the undercarriage of your car. do some research and pick a good name, then play with it for best results.
