Default Rear tie bars worth anything?

I know sway bars make the biggest difference, but will a $30 rear tie bar make any difference?

I do, so I will

Actually, since it has a "Best Offer" button, I'll see just how cheap I can get this thing

I made and offer of $6 last night which they declined. Didn't feel like messing around, so I offered $11, and paid a total of $25

I know the combination of Tei bar front and rear along with strut bars makes a difference.

Personaly I would stay away from the cheap ebay bars. They are going to be just for looks.

This is the one to get. One piece solid design.

that tanabe underbrace is for the front not the rear. I have the underbrace, and all the rest of the megan strut bars and tie bar. I threw them on all in the same day and I was shocked at the difference it made... my next suspension mods are the rear sway and tokico illuminas

I have heard that the Tanabe front under brace really helps with turn in. Tanabe makes one for the rear and one for the front.

If there was a knockoff of the front underbrace, I'd be all over it . Right now, I've got Tein H Techs and a front upper strut bar. I'd get a rear upper strut bar, but I have to both cut my trunk carpet, and lose some of the little trunk space I have

I bet they do. The AEM rear is actually designed for better ground clearance. THe Tanabe is faced towards the ground.

ok i have have the tanabe under braces (both of them)

yes they do scrape badly on a 4th gen too (with 1.5 inch drop)

and technically......the tanabe's are knockoff's of the cusco underbraces (which coincidantly are better than the tanabe's)

why? well because the cusco's are a bit stronger......i've already bent my front brace while my friend with an even lower car with cusco........just scrapes off paint

Not sure what you guys are driving over, but if scraping persists, I'm sure I can redesign the bar to tuck out of the way :D

The bar is only about an in lower than the header. It actually saves the header from damage.

I myself have only hit it Once. And it killed the bar. Went over a fallen sign going 70mph. It was dark But since bought a new one. Still haven't hit it.

yeah, the brace helps my greddy header keep safe

but i haven't scraped much (some driveways/misc things on the road/uneven roads/etc)

invader if you could redesign, i would be very interested.

the tanabe brace makes other things hard to do as well.

it kinda blocks the normal space you use to change/remove the oil filter (esp if you use oversized filters), getting to the filler plug on the tranny, and the drain plug

and its a pita to remove the brace so not worth it to remove.

It only took me 20 minutes to do the underbrace. And it was super easy to do.... i dont know what you are talking about. Maybe you have some seizing of those bolts

Anyway the tanabe underbrace on my 4th gen has only scraped once and it is like half inch from my downpipe. I am kind of glad it was there to protect it

oh yeah... I am looking into a rear sway bar,.... which one is the best for the money and the clearance???

^no its just hard to align the bolts after you remove it. its easier to take off the wheels so you can move the whole hub around.

sure i could take them off just as quick, but its just annoying to put it back on.

and rear sways don't have a problem with clearance (i've never heard of any)

ST sways are nice (they come with endlinks i hear, something you might need)

i bought a tanabe rear sway but waiting on custom endlinks

the best bet is the progress rear sway with some custom endlinks, the progress ones ppl say squeek/break/etc. i don't have any personal experience but alot of ppl complain about the progress endlinks

well my tanabe one didn't, ST did (on most apps, i am not sure however on preludes since i don't have any personal experience)

reason why is sometimes these stiffer sways will rip out the brackets / bend endlinks. and you can use your oem ones but mine were so stripped / rusted they were unusuable

i'm getting mine made from a local guy. expect to pay around the price of the sway for the endlinks.
