i got off work and i was going over these new stupid plastic speed bumps they just put in and my car hits it HARD. i try puttin into reverse doesn't go then i go forward over and i hear it hitting. im drivin down the street and first and second go in fine. wont go into 3rd you have to hella force it in. then it wont go into 4th u have to force it in. what could have happen please help? thanks in advance its a b16 hydro tranny.

 

Same thing happened to me your synchros are goin out a little after that started happenin my tranny blew and other signs are grinding going into 3rd at high rpms or grinding into second.

 

yah car does grind after 7000 rpms going into 3rd.. f it ima buy a new tranny

Hmm. Its hard to get into gear after hitting a bump?
Maybe your shift linkage got bent or something.

I dont know why hitting a bump would affect your syncros.

 

The way it only is hard to get it into 3rd or 4th (the same rail) could possibly lead somebody to believe the shifter fork is bent, no?

I'd do a temporary swap of the fork and see if you can shift into 3rd or 4th, that's most likely waht it is, I mean it's possible taht it's your syncros..but in 3rd and 4th? On the same rail like that? I don't know...sounds like a bent selector fork..

 

just to update on things. it wont go straight into reverse . i have to go into 5th then go into reverse. thanks guys for the help ima keep researching and takin some advice.
