Default Main relay for 92 Accord LX

Is it possible to test the main relay for 92 Accord LX? If so, how? And, is cruise control relay in any way integrated into main relay and could it affect engine to cutoff? Thanks.

Here's a link that might help you out. There are other things (ignition system, etc..) you can troubleshoot from this link also. Good luck.

if ur engine cuts of while ur driving chances are....could be ur ignition...the electrical part...i think honda has a recall on that...well the main relay if u turn ur key over do you hear a click...and ur fuel pump priming...if the main relay is starting to go bad itll get hot while driving and cut off...let it cool down itll start back up...if its bad period your car wont start cuzz it controls ur fuel pump and stuff..

Problem solved. The igniter needed replacing. Also, replaced distributor cap and rotor. Total for all parts $97.00. Thanks to all for your help.

I would like to update this. Your engine can also cut off if your main relay is on its last legs. My main relay was giving me problems for a while, but I didn't pay it no mind. Whenever i couldnt get my car started i would just bang on it a couple of times and it would start up. However, 2 times while i was driving the engine cut off. It was because of the main relay. I check dizzy, ign, fuel, fuses, ecu, tcu, etc. To make sure. Sure enough after purhcasing a new main relay from honda my start up problems and engine cutting off while driving have stopped. So please guys, take that into consideration. Everywhere i read, i see that people only mention main relay problems when trying to start the car up, but in my case it also cut power to my engine while i was driving.

hope that helps

sup luisito

yes, main relay cutting out = fuel pump cutting out = motor dying.

the majority of main relay problems are cracking solder joints which would make it not work when very hot (car sitting in heat) but if any other component inside of the MR is dying, it can definately make your car cut off while driving.
