Default SRS light when really hot outside

So i have a problem with my SRS light coming on when its really hot outside and the car sits for a while. It blinks when i turn the steering wheel.

Is there some sort of switch or something in the steering column that can cause this? if so, is it any major problem (such as my airbag might deploy on its own, or wont deploy at all if that light is on)

thanks in advance, as i dont know a thing about SRS

The is a 'spool reel' under the steering wheel, if you are sure that the motion of the steering wheel is what is turning the SRS light on. Replace it.
When the SRS light turns on the system is disabled, it won't blow up on you.
When replacing SRS parts unhook the battery negative cable and wait 3 minutes.

The proper term would be the "clock spring", but yea. That sounds like it's taking a dump.
