Would you use these if they were free?
I have a brand new set of Dropzone springs and shocks new in box (they call them coil-overs). I essentially got these for free but I know Dropzone has quality issues. I daily drive my Civic and I don't autocross it or race it in any way, the car has 145k miles on the clock now and the springs and shocks have seen better days. I was quoted nearly $1,300 for new struts and install at a local shop so I've been thinking of just throwing on these Dropzone's and leaving it at stock ride height or maybe 1/2" lower. If I just drive on these springs and don't attempt auto-crossing or anything dumb like that would they be safe on a daily driver? I know the ride would probably be rough with them but it would have to feel better than listening to the worn out stock suspension clunking and bouncing around.

finish this sentence...... "if its free......................."
**** if you do the labor your self its definetly worth it. but if you pay someone to do it and your dissapointed then you will be paying twice.

If only 1/2 an inch drop and you don't mind a rough ride, yes. Much more will turn free into buying tires all the time or buying a camber kit. And yes, the ride will be rougher. I did lowering springs and went back to stock after 2 weeks.

I would have the alignment adjusted as soon as the installation was complete.

BS. those sleeves are garbage. if youre car is still stock, just buy replacement struts at autozone. $1300 for parts n labor is outrageous. read up on here and do it on your day off.

I agree with /\
You could get KYB GR-2 struts and Tein S-tech or equal 1.5" drop springs for 3-4 hundred. Pay NAPA or someone 10.00 per strut to assemble with old strut parts and have a sturdy/firm setup.
I run KYB-AGX 4 way adjustables with Nuespeed springs not coilovers and I have a firm ride. But that is the way I like it.
You can keep that bouncy *** coilover ****.
Unless of course you spend the 1200.00 or more some serious setup.

gr-2s are great stock replacement struts.
i have tokico illuminas and dropzone coilover sleeves. they have been on my car for 4 years now, the ride is a bit harsh but its also not my daily driver. it handles pretty well and so far has held up to at least ten trips to the drag strip and i have pulled 1.7-2.2 60 foots on them. i check them everyonce in a while to make sure they aer not falling apart...so far so good.
if you can install them yourself i say go for it, but keep your stock stuff handy just in case.
