5Zigen RX-6 Vs Rota Gid= newRims?
Sup guys. Well see if anyone can help. I'm finnally trying to decided on which rims to buy for my 95 civic coupe. I'm thinking of the 5Zigen RX-6 or Rota Gid in Gun metal w/ploish lip cuz I need new tires soon and figure might as well get new set of rims. (cuz selling current 99 si rims to get new ones
)
Anyways say if I go with the 5Zigen RX-6 size 16X7 4-100 40HB is there going to be any tire issues with the size or no? As far as inner fender rubbing problems and etc. and what tire size is best for it from these:
205/40-16
205/45-16
215/40-16
Sorry don't know too much on tires/size
still a learning proccess so yeah. Thanks for the help if any.

Well you will want 205/40-16s. They best fit the original overal diameter of your stock tire. That size is generally approved for a rim width of 7"-8" thus you will probably want 16X7.5" if you can get them.
Now would you also like help with make and model of tire to get for your specific needs. If so answer the following questions.
1) what is your budget?
2) what is the climate these tires will see, any winter or do you have seperate winter tires and rims?
3) what is the purpose of this car? Is it just a daily driver or does it see the track, circuit, or strip?
4) what is more important to you stickyness or long life?
Answer these and we should be able to find the ideal tire for your exacting needs.
Cheers!

Why are you selling SI's to get some aftermarket rims?? SI wheels on an EJ1 are just downright sexy. Well anyway head on over to tirerack.com and look up some tires on 205/40/16 too see what you can afford.

Well i'm looking around for rims and I really don't want to spend more than $800 on tires and rims but if it means getting new tires/rims then I suppose I have have to pay up for it. (selling Si rims to get something new can always get em for $500 from dealer if I want them again)
Anyways about the width I don't know because i'm just looking on discounttiredirect.com and they only have the 5Zigen RX-6 size 16X7 4-100 40HB so yeah and they cost about $131 each or $524 for a set and looking for tires. But will it be a big deal if it's not 16x7.5" or what?
Now to your questions:
1) Rims and tires? $800 or so like I said
2) most likely both-thinking all season tires?
3) Daily driver-more so of street have to perform well on dry and wet
4) Long life....no tracks/strips yet
So because they only have 16X7 4-100 that's why I need help with tire size. well thanks hope to hear back.
P.S. is the 5Zigen RX-6 the same as 5Zigen RSX-6 cuz I have a buyers guide book and the 5Zigen RSX-6 looks almost like the 5Zigen RX-6 I found on the tire site I take it, it's the same? Cuz buyers guide only had it in size 17 and website I found it have it in 16s and bigger as well.?

yeah 205/45/16 is the correct size.a stock 92-95 civic runs 185/65/14's, with an overall diameter of 23.5in...205/45/16's will be just a touch shorter at 23.3. 205/40's work well if your car is dumped, but will throw your speedo off and look wierd if your car isn't slammed to the ground.Iv'e used 215/40/16's and they fit well but they weren't as responsive to steering input as the 205's.with any of the tires, a 16x7 rim will work perfect.
Okay cool...yeah the stock is 185/65/14 ...well okay thing is my car is not lowered so yeah...but I just checked on a tire math thing and my speed will actually be off/slower a bit with 205/45 but 205/50 will give me a better speed at 66.6 mph close to the orginal which is 65 mph. Or can I do 215/45 ?? Because that's more closer to my orginal speed at 65.42 mph??? I just want to know what's safe/good but mostly likely I should go with a 205/50 right? Also would it matter if the rim is 16x7 or 16x7.5???Thanks to whoever can help
P.S. I still like to know the info. when ordering, BUT now I can't order yet!

I bought the 5zigen Rx-6 rims the other day. I like them a lot. I'll try and get some pics for you so you can check out the stance and all. I had my car slammed on some 195 width gsr fat fives and it didn't rub at all. When I got these rims I had to raise my car up about 1.5 inches
to not get it to GRIND into my fender (cut my tire a little). You Definately want to go with 205 width (thats what I have) or maybe even 195 width.
I think mine is a 205/45/16... maybe.

Well I have to say the 5Zigen RSX-6 or Rx-6 rim which ever, if it's the same thing, do look nice but I did a little photoshop of it on my ride and I don't know seem like spokes were a bit small, well it's only photohop ofcourse but I just didn't know. So instead I'm most likely deciding to go with the Rota Grid 16" instead in Gun Metal or is royal gun metal better? Seems just like black to me (royal gun metal) so that's why I think Gun Metal. But if you have the photos post em! maybe I''ll just change my mind and buy them instead if it's that good looking. But damn BITCH!! hit my baby dent the crap out of my fender!! Oh well see if anything good comes out of it?
If not pop the dent myself, if I can and go for a set of JDM fenders.
SO I take it when my baby is fix I should just go with 205/50/16? On the GRID or maybe 5Zigen? "Also would it matter if the rim is 16x7 or 16x7.5 for 205/50/16 tires???? Thanks to whoever can help

P.S. (adamkob32) Looks nice but don't know if it looks good on my car besides 17s I don't know thinking it's too big...right now biggest I want to go is 16s and if you were local maybe I take a shot at it for a tab lower then maybe I'll go 17s but nawh it's cool thanks man

You want a tire that is as close to stock wheel/tire diameter as possible. A bigger wheel/tire will cause you to have innacurate speedo readings. A tire that has a 10% thicker sidewall ( 205/40 vs. 205/50) will throw your speedo off by quite a bit.
To reiterate: 205/50/16 does come stock on 98-02 Accord V6 as well as 01+ Civics with the HFP option. It would not be a proper size for your civic, which comes with a much smaller wheel/tire than these cars ( 185/60/14)

You probably got confused because the correct stock size for your car ( 92-95 civic ex/si) is 185/60/14. Not 185/65/14. That threw the calculations off.
okay maybe
...cuz I read the manual book a while ago forgot what it was but owner before me threw on some 185/65 I believe...but thanks for the help and i'll check again and if I'm back see if you can help again if i've got Q's otherwise i'm done for the night gotta work early tomorrow
so yeah thanks...
