Questions about a KISS amp/sub setup.
Im a total newb when it comes to systems for cars. I have a decent Alpine deck and its wired up for an amp. My buddy has some RF 12in subs that Id like to throw in. I have no idea what type of amp to pick up. Definetly something lower end, but will push the 12s decently. I do not know what the max RMS wattage is on the subs. I was thinking an amp that could do 4 ohms for 2 subs @ 100watts?
Something like this

or preferably this

Any insight on this subject would be great. I do alpologize if these type of questions are asked everyday....

If you're insistant on getting a Sony, get the second one... I've installed a few of those, and they perform pretty well... If the RF subs are stage 1's, they'll match up nicely to that amp...
Need to know the model number of the R/F 12" subs.
I do not believe R/F has a 12", [never mind 2x12"] sub, in their current lineup anyway, that would be powered properly with a 100W amp, the entry level Punch P112S4 is 150W continues and 300W peak, two of them should have a 300W RMS into 2 ohms mono block sub amp.
Keep this in mind, always use RMS ratings [not peak, max, total or any other "how can we fudge the numbers" ratings, and when buying amps if it's for high-pass it's $$$ for SQ, when it's for sub bass it's $$$ for watts.

Im not insistant on gettin sony, it just fits my budget. If theres a better amp for the same price out there, Im all about it! The # on the sub is: RF 1812 and I measured from inside of the sub to the other inside wall and I think they are 10s. If I do decide to go with the second choice sub, I wont have to worry about making it mono will I? Im sure these questions are all quite on the newb side of things, but I really do appriciate the help!!! Thanks!

I also ran across this one and its a bit cheaper then the sony... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...&rd=1 it pushes 125 watts @ 4 ohms RMS. Ive noticed that some push different watts @ only 2 ohms. Do I want to stick with more OHMs for better quality or sound or does it really matter?
If they are RFS 1812s they are a 12", 8 ohm, 100W continuous power handling sub-woofer, [old school, 1996]... http://www.rockfordfosgate.com...S.pdf . You will need a 200W RMS+ into 4 ohms amp to run them properly.
