Default Engine Damper

I just installed the Ingalls Engine Damper. Went in real easy, but I am getting some good vibration inside the car when driving and when it was idling the engine was vibrating pretty good. I just want to know if this is what is to be expected stiffing up the engine or if it may not be adjusted right. Also with my engine vibrating will it cause damage to anything else.

Yes, it's expected. Either way, whether be mount inserts or damper, they do the same thing and cause vibrations because all the motor movement is dampened by the damper to the chassis.

Alright thats cool, I also did measure and double check I had the right adjustments. Is their any possible damage to the engine from the vibrations or could it cause premature wear to the engine mounts?

I would think it would prolong the motor mounts since all the vibration is transferred to the damper and not the mounts itself. Nope, there won't be any engine damages.

Yeah makes sense. Hehe the sight of the engine vibrating pretty good just raised some minor concern. It def drives alot nicer now. Alittle louder inside the car but I like that. Going to be interested to see how it does at the track when I launch it. I wounder how much higher Id be able to launch it now.

it will calm down a little bit. If you have the time and means, I'd still reccomend inserts. I've seen a few of those dampers blow at the track and be relativly new. After a couple weeks you won't even notice them anymore.

Yeah ive heard that too about the dampers. The inserts are on the list to do. Yeah in a few weeks Ill def get used to it and take it as normal. What happens when it blows.. is it just the polyurathane piece getting crushed?

I've seen the bar break, I've seen the canister bust open and oil spray the engine bay. Kinda random what gives.

This is normal. Rob from Ingalls advises to use dynomat, or the like, to pick up some vibs as well. Stick it on underneath the bracket on the strut end.
