Nice car, but I don't think it's legal for the Challenge...
Again, sweet hatch though

argh....
Read the rulebook. As a hybrid, its a good car with the small exception of the rear windows (they need to be glass)

JDM tranny? I don't think so. Perhaps you should read the rulebook. BTW, I gave the guy a compliment, so back off. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but don't be an *** about it.

DAAAAAMMNNNN!!! That's nice man! VERY sweet ride! Now what did I do with that spare $18,000 I had on the coffee table!? lol Good luck selling it.
from davew's post:
"I can delete, add, or substitute parts within reason (ie...wheels, sets, brakes, etc...) and adjust price accordingly if you want to work something out..."
would lexan windows be a permanent fixture? I'd think that would be substitutable.
- I am really becoming quite enamored with the hatchbacks and it would be great to see more in H1.

...of course, then I remember that I already own two hatchbacks (not this nice, of course), and am supposed to be looking for a RWD car.

well, the rear hatch is OE glass, only the side windows are lexan, and I have the stock ones still I can put back in.
as for deletes to bring the price down, the wheels and tires are worth almost $2k alone, and seats w/ rails and harnesses are almost $1k, and brakes are worth about $700 or so.... you get the idea...
the tranny is a USDM ITR with OE LSD.

Hmm.... k...
From the honda challenge website:
3.8.2 Hybrids Defined
"A hybrid will be defined as any Honda vehicle built with components that are sourced from a stock Honda vehicle of a different model, domestic market, or generation."
The tranny is stock, therefore legal.

this car dyno'd on the same day I did...Dave is a cool guy and the car is just immaculate. If I had the $$ lying around this thread would now be locked.
Matt really wants a hybrid now.....
I really think for ~10 large I can build a suitable crvtec hybrid that can run with Yack. Now if I only had a job.........dammit
agreed, I enjoy building 'em as much as driving 'em...but not everyone is capable of doing the quality of work that some of us are, or have the time or funds. I won't even begin to add up what it cost me to build this car, but its quite safe to say it is Significantly higher than what I'm asking...not to mention the time it takes to sort it all out and that the season has already begun.

I don't like to think about how much I've spent. That is a nice hybrid hatch you've got there man. Too bad you're selling it. Good luck though.

Having just parted with my very beloved and fast GS-R, I have a unique insight into the pricing of a modified honda.
Please don't interpret this as a negative comment, but you will never, ever get the money you put into it, out of it.
Blue book values sell cars.
You have a higher demanded vehicle, but only for a much, much narrower clientele. I wish you luck selling it. After a month of trawling the car nut boards with classifieds, I went the lesser desirable route, and autotraded my baby to a (hopefully) good home.
-Chris, who would like to remind people there is no price or value on sweat equity.
