Default 02' rsx-s for ~$8000 a good deal?

My friends girlfriend has a 02' rsx-s w/ around ~80000mi that she doesn't want anymore. She said she would sell it to me as a favor for around $8000.

The bad things are...
1. it has 80000mi
2.she hasn't taken the best care of it
(hardly ever washed, probably never waxed, infrequent oil changes)
3. driven for 4 years by a girl (small scratches, few small dings)

why not just IDB her and take her car for free?? wtf kind of shady girlfriend is that? Having to buy a car off her while being her "boyfriend"? Kinda makes me uneasy.

haha..where I come from, we IDB that **** and we get what we want.

oops.

well.... IDB her anyways!

but yea..uhh $8000 is a very nice price of a RSX-S. You know how they say "always find a car thats been driven by a girl" ? Because tehy drive it less harsher?

well i think thats bullshit. seeing how I know women...they dont' take care of their cars, they don't do oil changes, wash it, they ignore Check Engine lights.... and ****... i don't see how a car is in any better condition than a car that's been driven harsh to the ground. Atleast a real man would probably do frequent oil changesa and pay attention to noises coming from the car.

Just buy it. If you bought a used car from a dealer you have no idea how it was taken care of. Just because you know that it was treated with the best of care does not mean there is damage. I would get a compression test.

My G/f does nothing for her car. She gets mad when I check her oil because she is always in a hurry. I swear her saturn is the most reliable car I have ever seen. The way it is treated and has yet to have a single problem. Except the sunroof motor.

think of it this way..... Even if you're not gonna drive the car, JUST BUY IT ANYWAYS!!

You'd make so much more than $8000 parting the car out.........

engine + tranny $ 4000
seats $ 1000
ECU $ 200
Sound $ 200
5 lug swap $ 1000
wheels and tires $ 400
headlights $ 150
steering wheel with airbag $ 300
misc interior parts (carpet,dash +++ ) $ 700
misc exterior parts (hood, fenders, bumpers, side mirrors) $1500
misc motors (wiper F+R, auto windows etc.) $300
alternator $ 400
everything else I haven't mentioned $ 2000

these are very rougly estimated prices ... I'm pretty sure you could make more...

Stereotypes generally hold true. While you are right that they are not 100% correct but the chances are great. Most women do not treat their car very well.

He could do even more without parting out the car and without all that trouble.

Come on buy it and just sell it with couple of thousen $$$$ of profit.
