Brakes on a Budget. How's This Combo?
Okay, so I've got to change the Sol pads AND rotors. I'm not trying to blow the banks as this car only gets driven once or twice a week.
So I was thinking what if I spent about $35 total (all 4 rotors) on some Wearever rotors from Advanced and then went ahead and spent a little more on some Hawk ceramics or Brembo pads?
Would having a cheaper rotor like that matter at all? Would I still get the full advantage of the nice pads? Or would I be better off with some Brembo blanks and lesser pads?
SO, final word. Cheapest rotors and killer pads? Mediocre both? Or nice rotors and cheaper pads?

I have only one thing to say to that cheep brake jobs only lead to big problems down the road. Warped rotors, brake fade, longer stopping distance, ect. spend a little bit more for good rotor blanks. The pads you selected are a very good pad don't waste them on junk rotors. Its only going to cost more in the long run

i've used rotors and pads from advanced for years, and on numerous of cars (tuned and not tuned). and i never have had a problem. yes brembo is a better quality brake company all around, but the dude is on a budget.

there's nothing wrong with this set up.

I am just saying that cheep rotors are not the best way to go. I have also had a lot of rotor problems using the advanced auto rotors. You get what you pay for
in all honesty...Ive never noticed any difference
I bought brembos one time
they rusted just like the parts store rotors did (worse, in fact) and performed the same
there is nothing wrong with using them
Id be interested in hearing of specific problems that youve had using "store brand" rotors along with what you were doing with them and how long
