Bearing problem
Hi all,
I have a "voop voop voop" sound coming from rear left wheel... I'm pretty sure it's a bad bearing, but it's not easy to find the exact part for my car since it's JDM.
Is it dangerous to drive on a noisy bearing?
Thanks

A slightly noisy bearing will usually last a good while before it fails. I wouldn't put a noisy bearing under any high speed stress, like a track event.
You can't repack them; you'll have to replace the hub/bearing unit. The part costs about $125 - 150. My guess is that US and JDM 5 lug "R" hubs are the same.

My car is JDM but it's not a DC2 -- it's an EG6. Same LCA as DC2, different hub.
Actually I'm thinking of taking the car down to a track event this weekend... now I'm slightly worried... I'm getting new suspension installed in a couple days; but my workshop tells me it's not easy getting into the hub to check the bearing, and once they take it out, finding a matching spare could take a while since Honda makes so many for Civics. (i.e. take the bearing down and get them to look at it to find a match)
I'll try swapping the tyres but I'm pretty sure it's not tyre damage.
Is there anywhere I can get a quick internet education on the hub/bearing mechanism?
Thanks again
