Greddy Evo 2 vs. Apexi N1
Hey, I have a 2000 honda civic ex cpe. and im looking for a new exhaust. Im stuck between the Greddy Evo 2 and the Apexi N1. I like both these exhausts because they have a low tone. But i cant make up my mind. Please if you have any experience with these exhausts share ur thoughts. Or if you have an exhaust that you like in particular, shout it out and wat u think about it. thanks in advance.
Well you might catch some **** for not searching but nonetheless I have a 99 ex coupe and I just got the apex'i WS2 a couple weeks ago. Couldn't be more pleased with it, GREAT tone and it's not deafening kinds of loud either. Not to mention I got some gain in mid and lower range rpm's

ive got a apexi n1 on my hatch. also have a 4-1 dc header and test pipe(b16a). exhaust is decently quiet at normal acceleration, when its cold its a little louder, and has a tendancy to make a fart sound when shifting from 1-2, and 2-3. but once it and the engine warms up it sounds low and quiet. now on the other hand, once you get on it its like hitting a light switch it gets insane loud and screams. my wife has been following me home before and says it is flat out ear piecing when i get on it. now keep in mind its not really loud inside the car but apparently outside it is. but it does include a silencer which i have yet to use, because it doesnt matter where i live if its loud. hope this helps

if it matters my wife has a 95 ex coupe. i bought her a holley thundermass cat back exhaust from fruitridge tools on ebay for $120. i put this and a test pipe on her car(d16z6) and it fit great and sounds awesome. also the first one came in and had a quarter sized ding in the canister, i emailed fruitridge and they immidiatly(spelling) shipped me out a new axle back section of the exhaust and let me keep the original one. talk about great customer service. iknow alot of people dont like ebay, which i understand but $120 for a holley exhaust i figuered ehh cant be that bad, and it turned out to be a good purchase. anyway good luck w/ your purchase.
N1 shouldn't be in the same sentence as quiet.
However it's what I'm putting on my car, when I have a worthy engine. No sense in making my Y7 sound fast.

i have a 00ex as well, about a month ago i got the evo2 for mine after the stock muffler fell off from the axle back...evo2 sounds sweet its deep as hell and not ricey high pitched bitchy squeeling fart pipes like you hear alot, a very throaty sound and well worth the $, i hear the N1 is loud as hell, but my opinon may be biased b/c i already chose greddy

EXACTLY. lol alot of people don't get this part of the equation. testpipe = VERY LOUD on any straight through exhaust system especialy if you have a header too. I have a evo2 on my 96 civic and it was just loud as hell with a test pipe and header. Then I put the stock cat back on and it dousnt even sound like the same car/engine and you can bearly hear it over the intake. btw I have a b18c with bolt ons.

Wow, why are all the pple here recommending other ****, he wants an opinion between those two exhausts...
I'd say STOCK...yeah, I'm serious, the N1's way too loud, when u get on it u'll be heard a mile away (no lie), incredibly loud, the evo is more "daily driving friendly" - not as loud, deep tone, etc...but I"ve heard some **** about it rotting out and **** in 6 months, there's been more than 3 complaints on H-T about the greddy evo falling apart through rust/rot etc.
I hear the Apexi WS2 is supposed to be good, I don't have any personal experience with that exhaust though..
Personally if I were you I'd shop around more, because like 1 out of every 4 people I talk to had their greddy evo rot out and expletive up and fall apart, and the N1 is rediculously loud, I've gotten pulled over quite a few times with it, but I have a lead foot which just makes the N1's sound level go off the chain :-\
Seriously, I would shop around again, I wouldn't recommend either of those exhausts...

No fitment problems what so ever. The exhaust bolted right up no problem and clearance is great

The Evo is a little deeper and lower than the Skunk2. But the Apexi N-1 is garbage
Go with Greddy
If you don't want to be like everyone else the Hayame sounds just like the Skunk2

My vote goes to the N1, yes it has rasp, but IMO they sound narly as hell at high rpm.
...but if I were to choose my own, I would wait untill my car made enough power to actually benefit from an exhaust (especially for that much money).

if you can get your hands on an exmag, do it.
i give the quality 10 out of 10, i had mine on my car for about a year and it still looked brand new.

Evo for sure! I've had mine for 2 years now and love it, and have never had any problems whatsoever. Plus, last year I put on a header and hi-flow cat and it sounds just as deep as it did before. Keep it clean to prevent rust...its called undercarriage wash!
I have a 00 coupe with a n1 and a factory cat. This is the winner. Do not run a straight pipe on a civic. Its useless and stupid. It destroys the good sound from the exhaust, and turns it into this high pitched typical "rice" sound you see on 89 ef 4 doors with huge wings. If you get a apexi, which i would highly recomend, keep your factory cat. You will be very happy with the results.
