My buddies 99 Accord threw a check engine light, so we went to Vato Zone to have them check it, and the dude said there was somthing going on with the ignition. He has been havin a studdering problem when he first takes off. Any ideas?

 

Starter? Possibly something with the alternator maybe?????

 

If it stays started it is probably not the ignition. If it runs for a while and doesn't need jumps it is not the alternator.

What was the exact CEL code?

 

plugs, wiring, dist?

 

is timing dead on? excessively retarded timing will cause a studer at take off..

 

not the alt. When that quits you get your battery, brake and door indicators lit up.....

 

Sounds like an ignition breakdown. I'd say the most common DTC it would be would be Misfire cyl #x. I'd suggest a full tune-up and go from there, the car is probably begging for one anyway if you rely on Autozone for your diagnostic needs.
