Default SMSP/Moroso B Series Production Oil Pan Now Ready

Here are some pictures of the new SMSP/Moroso B Series Oil Pan that is now in production. The standard Moroso 20901 pan was slightly redesigned to allow for more room for larger tube headers, i.e. B20VTECs, so that ground clearance could be enhanced. The first 4 pictures are of the production oil pan. The last 2 are of a B20VTEC header with a modified 20901 oil pan.

looks real good...how much oil does it hold? Does it require any modifications to install it? I can't really tell from the pic, but is it baffled?

i know for afact that the original moroso 20901 has a 5 qt capacity but with the modification that smsp has done, not sure how much that has changed the capacity. i dont think it is a baffeled pan, but not sure of that.

what did you modify on the oil pan? it does not look as big as the original

The pan is baffled (You can see the baffle walls in the first pic) and probably only
loses 0.5 qts in capacity. Another thing the moroso pan does is move the pickup
to the very back so that it gets plenty of oil on acceleration.

The calculated difference is a loss of 1/3 qt capacity. A little of the end of the dip stick needs to be trimmed but not so much that accurate oil level readins can't still be taken.

The overall pan is the same, the difference between this pan and the standard 20901 is the space between the sump and the bell housing. This allows more space for the larger diameter tubes of the B20 header and even more for the B18VTEC header that is the same configuration of the B20VTEC.
