Slipover Coil-over kits other than GC
Are the Omni slipover kits any good? Does anyone have any experience with them? They come with 8k/6k springs which is in the range I am looking for, plus you can always swap the springs for new/different ones.

Here is another set on Underground Racings web page (H-T sponsor)

The do make the adapters for the koni shocks for the omni slips.
The cost of these is about $150 (avg. b/w the two).

Just remember. You get what ya pay for 9 times out of 10! There are certain situations where you are just paying for a name, but I don't think this is one of them!

Agreed, BUT is this really one of those times? I mean, what makes them so "special?" Is it the collar itself or the springs (which are eibach anyway, right?)

Yes, price. If I can have the same thing for half the price, then why not save the extra $$$ that could go towards something like brake pads or tires.

I put this kit on a friends car(with koni yellows).. I did not like that just sat in the original spring perch. Not to mention they just did not feel like quality stuff and they rattled over bumps.
just get the CG kit.. you'll thank yourself later.

the best slip over coilover kit is Ground Control hands down...skunk2 is good to but there coilovers tend to ride a little bit more harsh than the GC's...i've got the GCs myself...and i've ridin in the skunk2s...a DA and a DB8...compared to the GC's...GCs all the way bro...do some more research you'll find out some more info on the comparsion...
I've had ebay coilovers, GC's, Tein SS, Omni Power....
You get what you pay for.
Right now I am looking into GC/Koni setup this time
Suspension is something you don't want to go cheap on

ride quality is related to the spring rate only when talking about slip over coilovers.

That is a big NO NO. CRX Lee has stated countless times that the Circlip will eventually fail when they are installed like this. You must have a special style sleeve that completely covers the Circlip...
To the OP: GCs are about 300 times easier to adjust. Simply jack up the car, loosen an allen screw, and spin the collar. All other brands use double locking perches, and they suck *****. You have to have two spanner wrenches to break the locking perch loose & tighten it down. Also, GCs are covered by a lifetime warranty & you can choose any spring rate you want so you KNOW ride quality won't be an issue...

are the top hats lifetime warranty as well? i have an issue with one of them, the pressed in bolts are loose, so when i try to tighten the lock nut, the whole bolt spins. its going to make for an interesting time to remove the suspension.
I'm pretty sure they are warrantied. You should call GC to find out what they can do...
I have heard that lowering the car to the ground before tightening those nuts can help. With the weight of the car pushing on the back side of stud, it can keep it from spinning. Your not supposed to torque those nuts with the car off the ground anyways...
Hope that helps some...

nope i torqued them when they were on the ground, and it just spun, i had to be ghetto and vice grip under the nut until i got the nut far enough so i can put the vice on the top side of the bolt, i'll probably send back the top hat in the fall when i take out my suspension for the winter, thanks.

Guess I have to save more pennies for pads and tires.
