just installed subs but they dont hit
I have 2 Elemental Designs dual 4 ohm subs.
A nine.1 amplifier.
and an Audiobahn A1100N cheap headunit.
I installed it yesterday and my 6x9s are hitting harder then the subs. The current setting on the amp i have is:
Gain = all the way down..because this amp will easily overpower the subs.
Bass boost = all the way down
LPF = 70ish hz
phase = 0
subsonic filter = all the way down.
Since it is a cheap headunit, you can't adjust EQ and it doesn't have any filters. Only preset EQ and the regular bass and treble. The RCA is only 2V and i put them in the rear channel. Also there is a subwoofer line in the back, its like a RCA plug but there is only one of them, not a pair like RCA.
Should I try to put the RCA in the front channel?
HELP PLZ
THANKS

Are you sure? Are you sure there's not something more complicated causing his "low volume" problem??? LOL

they are in phase cuz i checked that already.. they arent moving much at all...they bump at the same time...my 6x9s are louder then it right now
maybe its the headunit..i'll try messing with the settings tonight

Have you tried the front RCA outs on the deck? Have you tried a "Y" adapter onto the single sub out?
I know you say that the amp "will easily overpower the subs", but have you tried turning the gain up on the amp????

But I was able to see the pic by going directly to it, and you're posting a pic of the deck's harness, correct?? I noticed that there's 2 RCA outs and 2 RCA ins... Are you totally sure that you've got it plugged in to the output? I've done installs in a rush and plugged them into the input and got little or no sound...
And btw, I didn't ask for how you had the deck wired... I asked for how exactly you had the [i]subs[i] wired...

That would be the first thing I would do.

i could be the wiring from the amp to the subs (from th pic it looks like u may have spliced the wire hopefully ur not that dumb), or u might have blown ur fuse, i would put money on the blown fuse. did u have the fuse in while u were doing the wiring?

He's already stated that the amp works, so it's obviously not a blown fuse...

Don't be scared to turn the gain up. It looks like that amp has a ton of features, don't be a wuss and turn it up!
Also, what kind of box are the subs in? Sealed or ported? Sealed boxes usually need more power to get going.

Short of being there and inspecting his work, we can only give suggestions until he figures out his problem. Sometimes the most obvious answer is the right one.

Once again maybe thet subs are not playing any music because the gain, bass boost, phase and subsonic filter are turned "ALL THE WAY DOWN" according to the OP. Come on guy it's car audio not brain surgery.

You're talking to a bunch of bassheads.

LOL! Yeah but come on man even a basshead can't be that stoopid. I am assuming that he would realize that in order for an amplifier to put out power the gain has to be turned up just like you have to turn up the volume on a head unit to hear music. This thread has gone on too long for him not to figure out the problem and every one that has tried to help this guy has to be some what frustrated.

For some assurement to the OP, my sub is rated at 500 rms and amp is rated at 800 rms. I had to turn the gain up all the way to match the loudness of the sub to the stock mids/tweets. So stop worrying so much already and turn up the gain.
