clinking engine noise when revving at idle
I've got a B16a in my rex and everytime I rev it at idle, it makes a clinking metal noise coming from the engine. At first, I thought it was the valves tapping, but after I adjusted those to specs, the noise is still there. Someone told me it was detonation, is this what it sounds like? And how do I get rid of it?
Thanks,
Hung

It could be sticky valve seats. I have the same problem. Does it sound like a tapping noise? More so when it's cold in the lower gears? I tried everything also, valve adjustment, timing, hi-octane gas, and i even thought it was my injectors sticking so i changed those also. The only thing i haven't done and about to do is get new valves and valve seats, springs, and all that jazz.
My try checking your fuel pressure, sometimes is a sign it's getting too high.
Also, might try taking a screwdriver, place the flat end on different areas, and your ear against the handle, and listen.
