ECU reset?
Some people say yes to "re-learn" the ECU, but others like me, so whatever.
To re-set the ECU, go to the underhood fuse box and pull the 7.5amp RADIO/BACKUP fuse for 10 seconds. Reinstall the fuse and let the car idle. Then drive.
[note: That is the method for an OBD1 car (I've never owned anything newer than '94), I'm ASSUMING it's the same, but you know what happens when you assume...]

u got a 97 = OBD II
can go to autozone to hook up a scanner fo free & they can reset that way...
or just disconnect battery overnight... after pulling the terminals off, turn on headlight switch to drain any residual voltage faster.
