I saw a FANTASTIC thread that showed how to do this earlier this week, but I can't seem to find it. I'll keep looking.

If you don't have the heat shield and you don't mind spending a bit of money, you could have it professionally coated. Not only will it look better, but it will protect the manifold and cut down on under-hood temperatures.

That's great Padawan, I've never heard of anyone doing this. Would you happen to know about how much it costs and how much it lowers the engine temprature in the engine?

It depends on how you define "worth it", though on a stock cast manifold that is not terribly expensive to begin with, it might be difficult to justify the added cost. You can likely expect to pay between $150-$200 for a professional coating job (inside and out).

I don't plan on doing this on my car, I have some friends that would be interested in doing this.

Just put the heat shield back on it. It's hard to prevent it from rusting or looking like crap.

Damn, that's a sick resurrection...

at OP:
replace it is ur best bet...though I don't see why it matters...if ur not running an aftermarket header ur probably running some D series stock....so what's the diff? Speed's crap, looks like crap...iono, maybe that's just my outlook on things, but I wouldn't want something all crome and polished getting the "ooo's" and "ahhhhh's" pushing a whopping 80whp.
