Default Thermostat question

I have a 97 accord ex with a F22 engine. It keeps overheating, and the radiator and hoses are all brand new, yet it still runs hot. I think it could be the thermostat. Does anybody have any advice on how to change this? Is it easy to do myself (I am an okay mechanic, just never done a thermostat.)? Thanks for any help.

thermostat is very easy to do. its a little tricky (well, not really) on the accord because its on the intake side of the block. i cant give u a detailed walk through because i dont remember the exact details (its been over a year since i did it).

Make sure the fans work first.

Drain the rad.

Follow the bottom hose up towards the Throttle body, that's the thermostat housing.

Remove the hose from the thermostat housing.

Then there's 2 10mm bolts holding the thermostat housing to the block. Remove them.

Pull the housing away from the block and pull the thermostat out of the block.

Replace with a new thermostat and a new rubber ring around it.

Install the new thermostat and make sure its seated properly.

Then replace the housing gasket and re-tighten the housing.

Re-connect the hose and fill the rad.

Leave the rad cap off and start the car with the heat on full blast.

Watch the rad fill area, and wait until all of the bubbles have stopped before putting the cap on.

Drive it, let it cool and top it off if you need to.

yes..its pretty easy to do...its up top by the intake manifold...there'll be some hoses/wires in the way which are easy to relocate...then just take out those bolts and pop out the old one and in the new one...
