hey im new to this stuff so any help would be greatly appreciated. so i drive a 97 gsr...i walked out to my car last night to drive home and i put the key in and it wouldnt even turn over. i thought maybe a dead battery but everything else electical worked.... can someone help me?

 

Starter solenoid. My guess is you've still got the original starter in your car, and depending on mileage, it's probably it's time.

Go to a local parts store, and get a new/rebuilt starter. Shouldn't run you too much.

 

is there anyway to be possitive on that? i mean because it started fine all day and night then it sat for about an hour...then nothing

 

its like trying to start the car without the clutch all the way in...you know how nothing happens no click or anything but everything else still works.... anymore ideas?

one of the wires came off of the starter..i just plugged it back in and now it starts fine
