I just put a new hi flow cat/test pipe, whatever its called, on and it made my exhaust a little raspy. before i had a nice deep tone when i punched it but now when i punch it its a little raspy. is this normal? did i not install it right??

 

well ya, cuz instead of a catalyst inside the cat you no whave a hollow pipe (called a TEST PIPE).

hi flow cat is NOT the same as a test pipe, ebay calls them high flow cats but they are test pipes and provide NO emissions cleaning at all.

 

yes this is normal. you can install another resenator to get rid of some of the raspyness.

 

Yeah your car will sound ricey when running a test pipe. Get a carsound cat.

 

if you installed it yourself, did you use proper gaskets?

 

yea i used all new gaskets and bolts so its not leaking anywhere.. so its normal huh... well that kinda sucks.. dah well.. thanks for the help!
