Called my local mechanic and he said he couldnt see any reason for them to just die like that, other than the fact that its a cheap rebuild. Im gonna try to replace my grounds today. Anyone have any experience with this weird problem?

Hey I know this I. An old thread. Oil is in my spark plug sockets. I have no spark I went through 2 dizzy's.my question about this thread is what if oil is on the plugs or in the cylinder of the wire plug. Won't your car just start but sound shitty.

i cant speak for anyone else but when i bought my 90 DA it needed plug gaskets and always had oil soaking the the plugs and wires. which in turn ruined the wires and caused them to slip of the plug and kill the car or would have a loose connection and would starve the electrical power to make it bog but it hasn't seemed to hurt my distributor. so that may be a slight part of your problem but i dont see how it would kill your dizzy. have you checked all of your wires that run to the dizzy plug to make sure that none of them are shorting out?
