Default Car is still clonking bad...

Installed some poly inserts in the motor mounts today and it still makes a loud clonking noise when going down gravel or rough road. I've replaced the following
all the bushings
steering rack twice
ball joints
cv joints
shocks/springs
Z-10 crossmember
bridgestone potenza so-3's
Its done this noise ever since ive gotten the car and its just gotten worse over time. It also effects that tight go-cart feel that the crx has. The car dont feel as tight to the road. So do i just give up after 2 years of troubleshooting and sell it and get a mr2 turbo or do you guys got some ideas.

Is it any steering related or while moving or while going over bumps.

Jack up your car. Put your hands on one wheel at 12pm and 6 pm position (imagining your wheels is a clock) then jerk it back and forth. Any movment here (more then normal) usually suspects suspension problems.

Then do the same at 3 and 9 position and that usually signifies steering problems.

Did you replace your steering rack bushings?? thats what mine was???

Let us know so you dont have to buy a MR2

I've done that test thousands of times and so have the 20 or so mechanics that have looked at it. I've had two brand new steering racks put on and the rack end bushing ist fine. The car needs a pentagram on the hood its evil. Whats wrong with the mr2 i think that would be a nice step up even though its more difficult to work on. Thanks for the ideas though on what it could be.

I would suggest it is the upper control arm+ball joint but since you've already replaced it..

Steering rack: you've also replaced the steering pilar ?
