my check engine light is on in my 92 prelude

you have to tell us what code you are throwing...without knowing that, none of us can help you. As for the brake light being on...you have a bulb out...find out which one it is. I had it on for a while...1 on my 3 brake light bulbs was busted...

I went to autozone once, and they said they could only check OBD2, and not OBD1...

i dont think this is causing his light to come on
it depends on whether or not it's his red brake light or his ABS light. i know in my 89, my brake light (the same one that illuminates when the e-brake is pulled) turns on when i have low brake fluid. topping it off makes it go away. 
however 4th gens might be a tad different, but checking it anyway to make sure won't hurt

its an S model, so no abs for HER, yeah...she said she was a chick in another thread..
so i think she is speaking of the red brake light, which for me, meant a broken bulb/burnt bulb.
