Default My new car 1988 Honda CRX SI, Caution 56k unfriendly

So I finally was able to get another CRX. There are a few problems but tons of potential.

It idles funny when warming up, if I put it into neutral or push the clutch in it revs from 1-2.5 thousand rpms. Also, the RPM gauge is higher than what I think it should be, meaning when it is at 1000rpms, the needle really is at 2-2.5 rpms. The temp gauge does not work and lights for the gauges don't work. Sometimes when I accelrate my left blinker turns on a bit. Does this mean they just kind of did a hack job when installing the cluster and did it incorrectly? (This is the tech part of my post)

Pros
1) clean d16z6 engine
2) Coilovers all around but quality, maybe tokico
3) interior is fairly complete
4) Alarm with auto locks
5) body is fairly clean
6) 4 wheel disc brakes from teggy

Cons
1) one side of car is primered while other has original paint
2) gauge cluster a little messed up
3) sunroof does not work (probably motor)
4) heat nor air works (maybe blower motor)
5) fart can exhaust (i just don't like the loud exhausts)
6) no rear speakers but the doors do have tweeters

Thats about it. I think the pictures speak for themselves. I picked up this car for about 1800. what do you all think?

I really am starting to like it more and more

I think you did good for 1800. I don't really like the yellow headlights with orange corners but otherwise it looks like a good start.

Yeah, I actually think the yellow is really annoying. I am anti rice and i think the headlights, exhaust, and fake hoodpins need to go.

On another note, does anyone have a good article or know if you get a ticket for having the halo projectors?

other than getting it in nice clean condition and putting some rims on it, not much. I was probably gonna try some ls mesh cause I like the contrast of black and silver.

I just want a clean daily driver that has some get up and go. I think the d16z6 is good enough for me. Maybe if i had more money I would make it really fast but I'm not much of a speeder.

I know there are some issues with the car but other than the cluster and sunroof, quick fixes, i have a friend who is order painting stuff and is trying his hand at it. So if I can get it painted for cheap by him, i trust this guy with any car I have ever had, then i think it won't cost much to get this car clean looking.

ITs not too bad for $1800. I think you got a good deal, even though there are a few things wrong with it. But you got a complete working z6, not too shabby.

Yeah i would get rid of those headlights and corners and get some stock ones and take off the fake hoodpins,,,

Besides that it looks good...Does it have any rust, and was the swap done good?

And does that thing have 90-91 bumpers, moldings, and tail lights or do i need to put my glasses on?

Theres probably a short somewhere back there..take out the gauge cluster and see if any wires are exposed.,

Yea, exactly what i was thinking. Are you sure its a 88 si?? Seems like previous owner changed bumper, tails and even the cluster bezel. But it does have c-pillar mounted seatbelts like 88's.

Yeah, I want to replace the headlights with some dark backed halo projectors but that may look a little ridiculous. The car does have 14's in the back and 13's up front. I don't know why but the kid was missing a complete set. There also is mesh in the headrest which looks allright.

Does the D16z6 have a higher redline?

For 1800...not a bad deal. Something seems odd with it though, between the electrical problems and the "half" primer...i'm willing to bet you'd get a few surprises if you started tearing it apart.
