ANything i should look out for? is it hard? what tools do i need? HELP.......................im new to the whole import thing and i am just trying to make this car drivable i have nothing to drive til this gets fixed!
hell, a Haynes manual is enough to get you through a sohc Honda timing belt change. timing belt is probably one of the easiest "major" repairs there is.
and make sure you change the water pump.
and make sure you change the water pump.
1 - Set motor (crank and cam) to TDC
2 - Remove Crank Pulley (after removing accessory belts)
3 - Remove Lower timing belt cover
4 - Slip off belt, replace.
Super nutshell right there.

Well its really easy. Everyone should own a Haynes manual. It really takes 30minutes.
But beware. I no that if the belt snaps you have a 50/50 chance of bending a valve.

haynes manual right! how much is a timing belt? how much for a water pump?would it be bad if i just change the timing belt and not the water pump? the motor only has 60k on it!
just change it while you are in there... you will be glad you did... water pump, tensioner and belt shouldnt run you more than 120$ check out http://www.hondapartsdeals.com or http://www.prostreetonline.com they have genuine t-belt kits ... good luck and take it one thing at a time...

i changed my timing belt when my waterpump blew its *** out and left me stranded on the highway. Mine had 100,XXX miles on it when the pump went, and although the timing belt didnt need changing it might as well have been done whilst i had it off.
A good tip is to spin the motor over with a ratchet once you got the belt on. To see if everything clears and spins freely. Just in case you might have it wrong.
