Default Question about GC Spring Rates..

I am looking to buy some GC coilovers from someone with 10k miles on them. He said this about the spring rates.

"For the front it says "GC200.64.58" and for the rear it says "GC180.64.44""

Are these off the shelf spring rates? I want some off the shelf spring rates that will give me a good daily drive on my 00 coupe. I plan to be about 2.5" lowered all around.

Don't buy used springs, especially coilover sleeves.

Yes those are the off the shelf springs from ground control.

180.64.44 = 7" x 2.5" x 250 lbs/in
200.64.58 = 8" x 2.5" x 325 lbs/in

The fronts will be the 325 lbs/in and the rear is 250 lbs. I bought the same kit for my 00 coupe and wasnt happy with the rubbing. I dropped mine about 2 inches and the wheels rubbed when i hit any bump. I ended up buying a 10" x 2.5" x 450 lbs/in springs for the front and put the 325 in the rear. It solved the rubbing issue when i hit bumps but the ride is pretty stiff. I never rolled my fenders to correct the rubbing issue so i got stiffer springs to help.
If you want to keep a nice ride stiffness with a 2.5" drop just roll the fenders and take out the inner fenderwell plastic panels. That should solve the problem. Also i dont see what's wrong with buying used springs. Its not like shocks that go bad after 100K miles. If you get a good deal go for it.

Here's a few pics of my car that lowered between 2 and 2.5"

This is correct.

To convert the metric part numbers to imperial units, use these conversion factors: (/25.4, /25.4, *5.6). This will convert (mm.mm.kg-mm) to (in.in.lbs-in). The first number is the spring length, the second number is the inner diameter, and the third number is the spring rate.

You are also running what looks like 17s. I have 15s. Thats why you were rubbing when you hit bumps and what not. 17s are way to big on hondas.

A little info for you about rumors. No 17's arent too big for honda's if you get the correct tires.

Stock honda tires are 185/65 R14
Mine are 205/40 R17

Plug these values into this handy tire calculator found here:
http://www.discounttiredirect....S.jsp

You'll see that the overall diameter difference between factory and what i have is .01". So the outside of the tire is the same size as factory. This means it doesnt matter what tire i run because both would rub the same. Stop listening to people that say 17" are too big for honda's. They dont know what they're talking about. Reaseach stuff before you follow the band wagon.

I don't see anything wrong with using used coilovers unless they are rusted or damage. I'm using my old G-C coilover i had on my hatch for 3year in my other hatch.
